Message from the Master

Professor Hung-Fat Tse
William M W Mong Professor in Cardiology

The Madam S. H. Ho Residence for Medical Students was opened in 1992 with a generous donation from the S H Ho Foundation. It has benefited over 9,000 medical students since then.

As the Residence caters solely for medical students, we have created a unique residential community with a quiet yet friendly atmosphere where you can meet and study with like-minded peers in a supportive learning environment.

I look forward to welcoming prospective residents and working with those of you who are already living here.

The Madam S. H. Ho Residence for Medical Students (何善衡夫人堂)
, or the “Residence”, is situated on the west side of Hong Kong Island and is conveniently located both for Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) and the city’s amenities. The Residence is a five-minute walk from the Hospital and is exclusively used by students undergoing clinical training there.

The seven-storey building accommodates 150 medical students, most of whom are either fourth-year students taking a specialty clerkship or final-year students. A few rooms are also allocated to overseas elective students.
